Aluminium Inserts for Concrete and Precast Guidance
How to select a durable RiggerSafe® contact interface for abrasive construction tasks.

PSC / HSF application guidance · 15 October 2026
Start with what the head touches
Concrete contact is different from contact with a painted frame or finished metal component. Roughness and repeated rubbing can make wear at the interface a practical selection concern. Describe the concrete surface, edge shape and intended movement when asking for a tool.
The aluminium-insert RiggerSafe® variant offers a durable contact option where abrasive concrete or precast guidance is the priority. The application review must establish whether the head engages securely and whether the working position is appropriate.
Durability is one selection factor
Consider head geometry, engagement, reach, required working force, release and possible marking of the load. A more durable contact material is useful only when the whole interface fits the task.
For cosmetic, coated or easily marked surfaces, discuss a non-marring insert variant. Select the fixed insert product variant when ordering; do not assume an interchangeable insert system.
What to include in the enquiry
Send photographs of the actual contact area and explain whether the action is pushing, pulling or guiding. State how the component is supported, the available clearance and whether the tool could become trapped.
Also provide expected frequency of use, environmental conditions and tool length. Ask PSC or the reseller to confirm the selected configuration against its current technical information.

Inspect the contact point during the trial
Assess visible wear, damage, secure engagement and the release action using the manufacturer’s inspection guidance. Stop using a damaged tool or an interface that does not remain controlled.
A push/pull tool guides a supported load. It must not be used to lift, catch a falling element or force movement beyond its intended use. Keep personnel clear of crushing and load-path hazards.
